About the Department
The Department of Food Technology, established in 2021, features modern infrastructure and well-qualified laboratories. Aiming to impart both basic and advanced knowledge, the curriculum follows the NEP 2020 policy and is industry-oriented, developed by experts. Faculty engage in significant research while providing practical experiences through industry visits. The department hosts entrepreneurship workshops for local youth and boasts a top-notch food processing laboratory for assessing local food product quality. Final year students focus on major research projects and experiential learning through internships. The discipline encompasses various specializations, preparing graduates for careers in food processing industries or entrepreneurial ventures. Additional courses enhance holistic development.M. Tech in Food Technology is a 2-year postgraduate program comprising 4 semesters, aimed at graduates with a B. Tech in Food Technology or equivalent. Similarly, M.Sc. in Food Science and Technology is a 2-year program that delves into Food Chemistry, Microbiology, and Preservation techniques. All these courses offer advanced concepts in Food Technology, emphasizing Food Processing, Preservation, Packaging, and Research. Graduates& Post Graduates can explore various careers, including Production Manager, Plant Head, and Research Scientist in food-related sectors. The food processing field has vast opportunities across diverse methods such as Fermentation, Canning, and Freezing, encompassing roles in quality, research, manufacturing, and government sectors.

The School offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, CSE with Data Science, Agricultural Engineering, and Food Technology.
The Agricultural Engineering program offers specialized streams in Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Processing and Food Engineering, Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, and Renewable Energy Engineering.
We are also proud to introduce 6-year Integrated Undergraduate Degree Programs, which provide a seamless and structured academic pathway, fostering strong foundational knowledge, advanced technical expertise, and research orientation.
