About the Committee

The Student Services Centre (SSC) Committee of D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University is established in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to provide comprehensive support services to students and to ensure their academic, personal, and professional well-being during their university life.

The Student Services Centre serves as a centralized support platform that facilitates student-related services, including academic guidance, counselling, career support, grievance redressal, scholarships and financial assistance, health and wellness services, and co-curricular engagement.

The Committee aims to ensure that students receive timely assistance and access to essential services that contribute to their academic success, personal development, and overall well-being. It works in coordination with various university units such as academic departments, training and placement cell, hostel administration, counselling services, and other student support mechanisms.

Functions of the Committee

The Student Services Centre Committee shall:

  1. Coordinate and facilitate various student support services within the university.
  2. Provide guidance and counselling to students regarding academic and personal challenges.
  3. Assist students in accessing scholarships, financial aid, and government welfare schemes.
  4. Address student grievances and ensure timely redressal through appropriate mechanisms.
  5. Promote student wellness through health awareness programmes and counselling services.
  6. Facilitate career guidance, mentoring, and skill development initiatives.
  7. Support international students and students from diverse backgrounds.
  8. Maintain records and documentation related to student services and welfare programmes.

Duties & Responsibilities

Members of the Student Services Centre Committee shall:

  1. Ensure effective coordination of student support services across the university.
  2. Provide timely assistance to students seeking academic guidance, counselling, or administrative support.
  3. Monitor the implementation of student welfare schemes and support services.
  4. Promote awareness about available student services and support mechanisms.
  5. Facilitate collaboration with different university units to improve student experience.
  6. Maintain confidentiality and fairness in handling student grievances and concerns.
  7. Prepare reports and documentation on student services and activities.

 

Procedure of Functioning

  1. The Student Services Centre Committee shall meet periodically to review student support services and welfare initiatives.
  2. Students may approach the centre through the member secretary of the office of students’ affairs for assistance.
  3. The committee shall review student requests, grievances, or support needs and coordinate with relevant departments for resolution.
  4. Awareness programmes, workshops, and counselling sessions shall be organized regularly for students.
  5. The committee shall maintain proper records of services provided and actions taken.
  6. Annual reports on student support services and welfare initiatives shall be prepared and submitted to the university administration.
