About Industry Relations Cell
The Industry Relations Cell (IRC) of D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University serves as a strategic platform to strengthen collaboration between the university and industry. The Cell aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by fostering partnerships with industries, corporate organizations, research institutions, and startups.
The Industry Relations Cell facilitates knowledge exchange, collaborative research, internships, training programmes, and industry-sponsored projects that enhance the practical skills and employability of students. It also promotes industry participation in curriculum development, guest lectures, workshops, and skill development initiatives.
Through strong industry engagement, the Cell supports innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer while contributing to the university’s mission of producing industry-ready graduates and addressing real-world challenges.

Functions of the Committee
The Industry Relations Cell shall:
- Establish and maintain partnerships with industries, corporate organizations, and research institutions.
- Facilitate internships, industrial visits, and training programmes for students.
- Promote industry participation in curriculum development and skill enhancement programmes.
- Coordinate guest lectures, seminars, workshops, and expert talks by industry professionals.
- Encourage collaborative research projects, consultancy, and technology transfer initiatives.
- Support entrepreneurship, innovation, and startup activities in collaboration with industry partners.
- Assist academic departments in identifying industry-driven research opportunities.
- Maintain records of industry collaborations, MoUs, and joint initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Members of the Industry Relations Cell shall:
- Identify potential industry partners for academic collaboration and engagement.
- Facilitate the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with industries and organizations.
- Organize industry interaction programmes, workshops, and networking events.
- Coordinate internship opportunities and industry projects for students.
- Encourage faculty members to undertake industry-sponsored research and consultancy.
- Promote knowledge exchange between academia and industry experts.
- Maintain documentation and reports of industry collaborations and activities.
Procedure of Functioning
- The Industry Relations Cell shall prepare an annual plan of industry engagement activities.
- Regular meetings shall be conducted as per the yearly meeting calendar provided by IQAC to review ongoing collaborations and plan future initiatives.
- The Cell shall coordinate with academic departments to identify opportunities for industry interaction.
- Industry representatives may be invited for meetings, seminars, and advisory roles.
- Activities such as internships, workshops, and collaborative projects shall be implemented according to the approved plan.
- Reports and documentation of industry collaborations shall be maintained for institutional records and accreditation purposes.
