About the Committee
D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University (DYPUT), Talsande, is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and ragging-free academic environment for all students. In accordance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, the University has constituted an Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squad to prevent, monitor, and eliminate ragging in all forms.
The Committee ensures that students can pursue their education in a secure and supportive environment free from fear, harassment, or intimidation. It actively monitors campus activities, conducts awareness programs, and ensures strict implementation of anti-ragging policies across the University campus, hostels, and associated facilities.
The University adopts a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and takes strict disciplinary action against any individual found involved in ragging activities.

Mission
- To strictly implement the UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations across the University.
- To promote a culture of mutual respect, discipline, and responsible behavior among students.
- To prevent ragging through awareness programs, vigilance, and monitoring mechanisms.
- To provide a transparent Grievance Redressal mechanism for reporting ragging incidents.
- To ensure prompt investigation and strict action against offenders.

Functions of the Committee
The Anti-Ragging Committee performs the following key functions:
- Implementation of UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations within the University.
- Monitoring campus and hostel environments to prevent ragging incidents.
- Conducting anti-ragging awareness programs, orientation sessions, and workshops.
- Coordinating with local authorities, police officials, and community representatives.
- Reviewing complaints and ensuring prompt investigation of reported cases.
- Supervising the functioning of the Anti-Ragging Squad for on-ground vigilance.
- Ensuring submission of online anti-ragging undertakings by students and parents.
- Maintaining documentation and compliance with UGC and statutory guidelines.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Anti-Ragging Committee and its members are responsible for:
- Ensuring strict compliance with anti-ragging laws and institutional policies.
- Creating awareness among students about the legal consequences of ragging.
- Monitoring vulnerable areas such as hostels, canteens, sports grounds, and common spaces.
- Receiving complaints related to ragging through official channels.
- Initiating immediate action and recommending disciplinary measures when required.
- Coordinating with the Anti-Ragging Squad for surveillance and reporting.
- Encouraging students to maintain a safe and inclusive campus culture.
Procedure of Functioning
Every student is required to submit the Anti–Ragging Online Undertaking at the beginning of each academic year. The declaration must be completed through the online portal, as the procedure is now entirely web-based. Kindly go through the instructions and submit the undertaking within the given timeline.
