About the Committee
The Admission Committee of D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University is responsible for overseeing and managing the admission process for various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes offered by the university. The committee ensures that admissions are conducted in a transparent, fair, and merit-based manner in accordance with the regulations of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of Maharashtra, and other relevant regulatory authorities.
The committee coordinates the planning, implementation, and monitoring of admission procedures, including application processing, entrance examinations (where applicable), merit list preparation, counselling, and allocation of seats. It also ensures compliance with reservation policies, eligibility criteria, and admission guidelines issued by statutory bodies.
The Admission Committee works closely with academic departments and the university administration to ensure a smooth, efficient, and student-friendly admission process.

Functions of the Committee
The Admission Committee shall:
- Develop and implement admission policies and procedures in accordance with university regulations and statutory guidelines.
- Coordinate the admission process for all academic programmes offered by the university.
- Prepare and publish admission notifications, prospectuses, and guidelines for applicants.
- Review and verify applications to ensure compliance with eligibility criteria.
- Prepare merit lists and manage counselling or seat allocation processes.
- Ensure implementation of reservation policies and government regulations in admissions.
- Address queries and grievances related to the admission process.
- Maintain records and documentation related to admissions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Members of the Admission Committee shall:
- Plan and supervise the overall admission process for the university.
- Ensure transparency and fairness in the evaluation and selection of applicants.
- Coordinate with academic departments regarding seat availability and programme requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to applicants during the admission process.
- Ensure proper verification of academic credentials and documents submitted by applicants.
- Monitor compliance with admission regulations and reservation policies.
Maintain records of admissions and prepare reports for institutional documentation
Procedure of Functioning
- The Admission Committee shall prepare an annual admission plan and schedule in accordance with the academic calendar.
- The committee shall conduct the meeting as per the yearly meeting calendar provided by IQAC to review overall admission activities.
- Admission notifications and guidelines shall be published through official university communication channels.
- Applications received from candidates shall be reviewed and verified based on eligibility criteria.
- Merit lists shall be prepared and published in accordance with the approved admission policies.
- Counselling or seat allocation processes shall be conducted where applicable.
- The committee shall address grievances or queries related to admissions in a timely manner.
- Admission records and reports shall be maintained for institutional and regulatory requirements.
