About the Committee

The Canteen Committee of D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University is responsible for overseeing the functioning and management of the university canteen. The committee ensures that hygienic, nutritious, and affordable food is available to students, faculty, staff, and visitors on the campus.

The committee works to maintain proper food quality, hygiene standards, pricing transparency, and overall service quality in the canteen. It also ensures that the canteen facilities meet health and safety standards and that the services provided are aligned with the needs of the university community.

Functions of the Committee

The Canteen Committee shall:

  1. Monitor the overall functioning of the university canteen.
  2. Ensure that food served in the canteen meets hygiene and quality standards.
  3. Review the menu, pricing, and service quality periodically.
  4. Conduct inspections of the canteen premises and kitchen facilities.
  5. Address complaints or suggestions received from students, faculty, and staff regarding canteen services.
  6. Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  7. Recommend improvements in food quality, service delivery, and infrastructure.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Members of the Canteen Committee shall:

  1. Regularly inspect the canteen facilities for cleanliness and hygiene.
  2. Monitor the quality of food and beverages served.
  3. Review pricing and ensure affordability for students.
  4. Interact with students and staff to gather feedback on canteen services.
  5. Ensure proper maintenance of canteen equipment and facilities.
  6. Coordinate with the canteen management or vendor for smooth functioning.
  7. Maintain records of meetings, inspections, and action taken on complaints.

Procedure of Functioning

  1. The Canteen Committee shall conduct the meeting as per the yearly meeting calendar provided by IQAC.
  2. The committee may conduct regular inspections of the canteen premises.
  3. Feedback from students and staff shall be reviewed during committee meetings.
  4. Necessary recommendations for improvements shall be communicated to the university administration.
  5. Minutes of meetings and inspection reports shall be documented and maintained for the record.
