About the Committee

The Cultural Committee of D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University is responsible for promoting cultural awareness, creativity, and artistic expression among students. The committee aims to create a vibrant campus environment by organizing cultural programmes, festivals, competitions, and artistic events that encourage students to showcase their talents and celebrate cultural diversity.

The Cultural Committee plays an important role in fostering a sense of unity, creativity, and community engagement within the university. It provides opportunities for students to participate in various cultural activities such as music, dance, drama, literary events, fine arts, and traditional celebrations. The committee also facilitates participation of students in inter-collegiate, inter-university, and national cultural events, thereby enhancing their confidence, leadership skills, and overall personality development.

Through these activities, the committee contributes to the holistic development of students by integrating cultural values with academic excellence.

Functions of the Committee

The Cultural Committee shall:

  1. Plan and organize cultural events, festivals, and competitions throughout the academic year.
  2. Encourage participation of students in cultural activities such as music, dance, drama, literature, and fine arts.
  3. Coordinate university-level cultural celebrations and special events.
  4. Identify and nurture talented students and provide opportunities for them to represent the university at higher levels.
  5. Facilitate participation of students in inter-collegiate, inter-university, and national cultural festivals.
  6. Promote awareness and appreciation of diverse cultural traditions and artistic expressions.
  7. Maintain documentation and records of cultural activities and achievements.

Duties & Responsibilities

Members of the Cultural Committee shall:

  1. Prepare an annual calendar of cultural events and activities.
  2. Organize cultural programmes, competitions, and festivals on the university campus.
  3. Encourage participation of students from different academic programmes and backgrounds.
  4. Coordinate with academic departments, student clubs, and university administration for conducting cultural activities.
  5. Identify talented students and guide them for participation in cultural competitions at the regional and national levels.
  6. Ensure effective planning, management, and smooth conduct of cultural events.
  7. Maintain records and reports of cultural programmes and student participation.

Procedure of Functioning

  1. The Cultural Committee shall prepare an annual plan of cultural activities at the beginning of each academic year.
  2. The committee shall meet regularly as per the yearly meeting calendar provided by IQAC to plan, coordinate, and review cultural programmes.
  3. Cultural events shall be organized according to the approved schedule and university guidelines.
  4. Students may participate in cultural events through registrations, auditions, or nominations as required.
  5. The committee shall coordinate with the university administration for logistical support, venues, and resources.
  6. Reports, photographs, and documentation of cultural activities shall be maintained for institutional records and reporting purposes.
