BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Kanhaiya Pandurang Powar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, with specialization in battery thermal management, focusing on composite phase change material-based passive cooling of lithium-ion batteries. He has more than 11 years of professional experience spanning academia, research, and industry.
His research interests include battery thermal management, lithium-ion battery testing, thermal engineering, composite phase change materials, additive manufacturing, and engineering education. He has published several research papers in reputed international journals and conferences in the areas of thermal engineering, battery thermal management, magnetorheological brakes, and engineering education.
Dr. Powar has also contributed to patents and funded research projects and serves as a reviewer for international engineering journals. His academic interests encompass outcome-based education, experiential and technology-enhanced learning, curriculum development, and student mentoring. He is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and is committed to innovative teaching, interdisciplinary research, sustainable engineering solutions, and academic excellence.
