Dr. Pravin Ashok Mane, a Mechanical Engineering academician based in Kolhapur. I have 18 years of combined experience spanning both academic instruction and the manufacturing industry. My core areas of expertise encompass CAD/CAM/CAE, nanofluid-based minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) machining, and advanced manufacturing processes.

My Educational Background My academic journey culminated in 2024 when I earned my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, with a specialization in nanofluids, from VTU Belagavi. Prior to my doctoral studies, I completed my M.E. in CAD/CAM/CAE (66.11%) in 2014 and my B.E. in Mechanical Engineering  in 2009, both from Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

Professional Experience Since July 2011, I have proudly served as an Assistant Professor at D.Y. Patil College of Engineering and Technology in Kolhapur. In this capacity, I have the privilege of delivering lectures on subjects such as FEA, Machine Drawing, Mechatronics, CAD/CAM, and Manufacturing Processes. Before transitioning fully into academia, I gained hands-on industry experience working as a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer at TBK India Pvt. Ltd. from January to June 2011. Prior to that, I worked as an Engineer at Sound Casting Pvt. Ltd. from June 2009 to December 2010, where I managed mechanical engineering tasks, production support, and quality improvement initiatives.

Research and Patents Advancing the field of mechanical engineering through research is a significant passion of mine. I serve as a recognized Research Co-Supervisor at Visveswarya Technological University, Belgaum, and am currently guiding two Ph.D. research scholars in Mechanical Engineering. I have authored more than eight research publications in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals and conferences. My published work heavily focuses on sustainable machining, specifically examining the effects of CuO nanofluid MQL on turning operations for difficult-to-machine materials like Inconel 718 and Titanium alloy. In addition to my academic publications, I hold a published patent (Application No: 202021031641A) for an Automatic Touchless Mist Spray Metallic Hand Sanitizer Machine, which was published on August 28, 2020.

Administrative Roles and Continuous Learning Beyond my teaching and research commitments, I am deeply involved in institutional and curriculum development. I am a Board of Studies (BoS) Member for Arvind Gavali College of Engineering in Satara. At my home institution, I have taken on numerous administrative and coordinating roles, including Training & Placement Coordinator, Departmental DRC Member, IQAC Department Member, News & Media Coordinator, NAAC Criteria 2.2.7 Committee member, and NBA Criterion-7 Coordinator. I also prioritize lifelong learning, having completed AICTE-QIP certification programs, NEP 2020 orientation, and multiple faculty development programs covering advanced manufacturing, structural analysis using ANSYS, and FEA technology.
