About the Committee
The University Board of NSS and NCC (Outreach Activities) at D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University (DYP-ATU) serves as the apex body responsible for planning, coordinating, and promoting outreach and community engagement programmes through the National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC) units of the university.
The Board works to integrate community service, social responsibility, and national development activities into the educational framework of the university. It provides policy direction and strategic oversight for various extension and outreach initiatives such as rural development programmes, environmental awareness campaigns, health camps, disaster relief activities, and community welfare initiatives.
Through NSS and NCC activities, the Board encourages students to develop leadership qualities, discipline, teamwork, and a strong sense of civic responsibility while contributing to nation-building and community development.

Director – Students’ Affairs Desk Message
At D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University, Talsande (DYPUT), we believe that a truly meaningful university experience extends far beyond classrooms and academic achievements. Functions of the Committee
The University Board of NSS and NCC shall:
- Formulate policies and guidelines for NSS and NCC activities within the university.
- Plan and promote outreach and extension programmes that contribute to community development.
- Coordinate activities of NSS units and NCC wings across the university and affiliated institutions.
- Encourage participation of students in national service activities, camps, and training programmes.
- Promote programmes related to rural development, environmental conservation, health awareness, and social welfare.
- Review the performance and achievements of NSS and NCC units periodically.
- Facilitate collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations for outreach activities.
- Encourage participation of students in national integration camps, youth development programmes, and disaster management initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Members of the Board shall:
- Provide strategic direction for NSS and NCC outreach programmes.
- Monitor the implementation of outreach and community engagement initiatives.
- Encourage participation of students and faculty members in community service activities.
- Support the organization of camps, training programmes, and awareness campaigns.
- Facilitate coordination between the university, NSS units, and NCC authorities.
- Promote initiatives that address social, environmental, and national development issues.
- Review reports and achievements of NSS and NCC activities annually.

Tree Plantation Drive
On Thursday, 30 July 2026, the National Service Scheme (NSS) of D. Y. Patil Agriculture & Technical University, Talsande, successfully organized a Tree Plantation Drive at Male Village.
The programme witnessed the active participation of 30 NSS student volunteers, who dug 85 planting pits and planted 30 Sitaphal (Custard Apple) saplings to promote environmental conservation and sustainable afforestation.
The initiative strengthened environmental awareness, community service, and the University’s commitment to a greener future.

Free Faculty Health check-up
From Monday, 20 July to Friday, 24 July 2026, the National Service Scheme (NSS) of D. Y. Patil Agriculture & Technical University, Talsande, in collaboration with Sou. Shantadevi D. Y. Patil Hospital, successfully organized a Free Health Check-up Camp for faculty members.
The programme promoted preventive healthcare through free medical consultations and health screenings, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and early detection of health issues.
The NSS Unit sincerely thanks the medical team, faculty members, and the organizing committee for making the initiative a success.
Free Eye Health Check-up Camp
On Wednesday, 10 June 2026, the National Service Scheme (NSS) of D. Y. Patil Agriculture & Technical University, Talsande, in collaboration with Sau. Shantadevi D. Y. Patil Hospital, Talsande, successfully organized a Free Eye Health Check-up Camp on the occasion of World Eye Donation Day.
Students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff actively participated in the programme, benefiting from free eye health screenings and an awareness session on eye donation.
The initiative promoted the importance of eye donation and preventive eye care.

Saksham Campus Initiative on Self-Defence for Women
On Thursday, 29 January 2026, the National Service Scheme (NSS) of D. Y. Patil Agriculture & Technical University, Talsande, successfully organized the SAKSHAM: Campus Initiative on Self-Defense for Women as a student-led training programme.
The programme was conducted by Ms. Sanskruti Salavi Student from FY B.Tech CSE with enthusiastic participation from Female students across the university.
The practical training enhanced participants’ self-defense skills, personal safety awareness, and self-confidence, reinforcing the University’s commitment to women’s empowerment and holistic student development.

Campus Cleanliness Drive
On Thursday, 22 January 2026, the National Service Scheme (NSS) of D. Y. Patil Agriculture & Technical University, Talsande, successfully organized a Campus Cleanliness Drive to promote cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and civic awareness.
Students actively participated in cleaning various areas of the university campus, contributing towards a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment.

Tree Sapling
On Saturday, 17 January 2026, the National Service Scheme (NSS) of D. Y. Patil Agriculture & Technical University, Talsande, successfully organized a Cleanliness Awareness Activity as part of National Youth Week.
Students actively participated in the programme and distributed plant saplings to the University’s cleaning staff as a gesture of appreciation for their dedicated service.
The initiative promoted cleanliness, environmental awareness, and social responsibility while recognizing the invaluable contribution of sanitation workers.

Group Discussion on “Role of Youth in Nation Building” and “Women Empowerment”
On Wednesday, 14 January 2026, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of D. Y. Patil Agriculture & Technical University, Talsande, organized a Group Discussion and Debate Competition as part of National Youth Week.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS student volunteers, who actively discussed the themes “Role of Youth in Nation Building” and “Women Empowerment.”
The activity encouraged critical thinking, social awareness, and responsible citizenship while enhancing students’ communication and leadership skills.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants by the director student Affairs for their active involvement and meaningful contributions.
Elocution Competition
On Monday, 12 January 2026, the National Service Scheme (NSS) of D. Y. Patil Agriculture & Technical University, Talsande, successfully organized a University-Level Elocution Competition on the occasion of National Youth Day and Swami Vivekananda Jayanti.
Students across the university enthusiastically participated and expressed their views on “Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India)”, showcasing their public speaking skills and confidence.
The competition promoted effective communication, leadership, and self-expression among students.

Constitution day
Celebration of Indian Constitution Day was conducted on 26 Nov 2025 at our University, with great enthusiasm and active student participation.
Highlights of the Program:
* Guest Lecture: Thought-provoking session on “Constitutional Awareness and Rights” delivered by Adv. Ashwinkumar Sir.
* Preamble Reading: Collective reading of the Preamble, reinforcing unity and constitutional values.
* Multilingual Recitation: Students presented the Preamble in Marathi, Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Kannada, and Gujarati, showcasing linguistic diversity.
* Constitution Day Quiz: An engaging quiz that enhanced students’ knowledge and awareness of the Indian Constitution.
Overall, the celebration successfully promoted civic responsibility, constitutional understanding, and active participation among students.
Procedure of Functioning
- The Board shall meet periodically during the academic year to review and plan outreach activities.
- NSS and NCC programme coordinators shall present activity plans and progress reports during the meetings.
- The Board shall review proposals for outreach programmes, camps, and community development initiatives.
- Recommendations of the Board shall be forwarded to the university administration for approval and implementation.
- Annual reports on NSS and NCC activities shall be compiled and submitted to the university authorities.
