About the Committee

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Committee of D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the effective use of digital technologies in academic, administrative, and research activities of the university.

The committee promotes the integration of modern ICT tools and digital infrastructure to enhance teaching, learning, research, and institutional management. It works to strengthen the university’s technological ecosystem by supporting e-learning platforms, digital classrooms, campus networking systems, learning management systems (LMS), and other technology-enabled services.

The ICT Committee also facilitates the development and maintenance of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity practices, and digital resources to ensure efficient communication, data management, and access to information across the university community.

Functions of the Committee

The ICT Committee shall:

  1. Develop policies and strategies for the effective use of ICT in academic and administrative processes.
  2. Facilitate the implementation of digital learning platforms such as Learning Management Systems (LMS) and online education tools.
  3. Monitor and support the development of ICT infrastructure, including campus networking, Wi-Fi connectivity, and digital classrooms.
  4. Promote the use of digital tools for teaching, learning, and research activities.
  5. Encourage adoption of online resources, virtual laboratories, and multimedia learning materials.
  6. Ensure data security, cybersecurity awareness, and responsible use of information technology.
  7. Support the development and maintenance of the university website, portals, and digital services.
  8. Facilitate training programmes for faculty members, staff, and students on ICT tools and digital platforms.

Duties & Responsibilities

Members of the ICT Committee shall:

  1. Assess ICT requirements for academic departments and administrative units.
  2. Provide guidance for the development and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
  3. Monitor implementation of ICT-based teaching and learning practices.
  4. Promote digital literacy and ICT skill development among faculty members and students.
  5. Ensure smooth functioning of digital communication systems within the university.
  6. Review proposals related to ICT resources, software, and digital tools.
  7. Maintain documentation and reports on ICT initiatives and infrastructure development.

Procedure of Functioning

  1. The ICT Committee shall meet regularly as per the yearly meeting calendar provided by IQAC  to review the status of ICT infrastructure and digital initiatives within the university.
  2. Academic departments may submit proposals for ICT-related requirements such as digital classrooms, software, or technological tools.
  3. The committee shall evaluate and recommend ICT projects based on academic relevance and institutional priorities.
  4. The committee shall coordinate with the IT support team for the implementation and maintenance of ICT systems.
  5. Training sessions and workshops on ICT tools shall be organized for faculty members, staff, and students.
  6. The committee shall maintain records of ICT initiatives, infrastructure development, and implementation progress.
