About the Squad Committee
D. Y. Patil Agriculture & Technical University (DYPUT), Talsande, has constituted an Anti-Ragging Squad as part of its commitment to maintain a safe and ragging-free campus environment. The Squad works under the guidance of the Anti-Ragging Committee and functions as the active monitoring and enforcement body to prevent ragging within the University premises.
In accordance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, the Anti-Ragging Squad conducts regular surveillance across the campus, including academic blocks, hostels, playgrounds, cafeterias, and other common areas.
The Squad plays a crucial role in ensuring that all students can study in a secure, respectful, and supportive atmosphere, free from harassment, intimidation, or fear.
Vision
To ensure a ragging-free campus through active vigilance, immediate response, and student protection, thereby promoting a healthy academic environment.
Mission

Functions of the Committee
The Anti-Ragging Squad performs the following key functions:
- Conducting regular inspections and surprise checks in hostels and campus areas.
- Monitoring sensitive and vulnerable locations where ragging incidents may occur.
- Receiving and responding to complaints related to ragging.
- Reporting incidents immediately to the Anti-Ragging Committee for further action.
- Ensuring strict adherence to UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations.
- Assisting in organizing awareness drives and anti-ragging campaigns.
- Maintaining vigilance during admission periods and the beginning of academic sessions.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Anti-Ragging Squad is responsible for:
- Maintaining continuous surveillance across the university campus.
- Intervening immediately in suspected ragging situations.
- Ensuring the safety and protection of junior students.
- Reporting violations to the Anti-Ragging Committee for disciplinary action.
- Assisting authorities in conducting investigations when required.
- Encouraging students to report ragging without fear.
Procedure of Functioning
- The Anti-Ragging Squad conducts routine and surprise visits to hostels, classrooms, corridors, and other student gathering areas.
- Any incident or complaint related to ragging is immediately reported to the Anti-Ragging Committee.
- The Squad assists in preliminary fact-finding and documentation of the case.
- Appropriate action is recommended in accordance with UGC anti-ragging regulations and University policies.
- The Squad works closely with hostel wardens, security staff, and administration to ensure a safe and disciplined campus environment.
