BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Vikas Sawant is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Chemistry at D Y Patil Agriculture and Technical University, Talsande. He has total of 15 years of experience, including 13 years in teaching and 2 years in industry. He holds a Ph.D. from Shivaji University, Kolhapur and an M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from Mumbai University. He also qualified for the SET exam. He served as an Assistant Professor (Full-time) at ATS Sanjay Bhokare Group of Institutes, Miraj for seven years (2016 to 2023). His industrial experience was as a Team Associate in Quality Control at Kirloskar Oil Engines LTD from 2007 to 2009.

Dr. Sawant has an active research profile, with research paper publications listed, appearing in journals like Chemical Papers (Springer) and Sensing and Bio-Sensing Research (Elsevier). His research interests include material sciences, nanotechnology and chemistry. He has also authored a book titled “Introduction to Nano Materials and Nano Thin films”. Additionally, he holds one Utility Patent titled “A System and a Method for UV / IR/Visible Light Induced Photocatalytic Reaction Studies”.

In terms of academic contributions and responsibilities, he has been the Head of the Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities at ATS SBGI Miraj. He is a Life Member of ISTE and has also served as a Subject Expert at a Local Selection Committee and as a Reviewer for a Research Journals.

            Dr. Sawant actively participates in academic development and knowledge sharing through numerous conferences, Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), and workshops. He has undertaken extensive training through FDPs and workshops to enhance his teaching and research skills.
