About CISR
The Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies & Research (CISR) at D. Y. Patil Agriculture & Technical University (DYP-ATU) serves as a dynamic academic and research platform dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary excellence. CISR promotes collaborative learning, innovative research, capacity building, and advanced skill development by connecting diverse departments under a unified vision.
CISR integrates Computer Technology, Agriculture, Food Science, Management, and allied disciplines to create a research-driven and innovation-led academic ecosystem. 1. Interdisciplinary Courses
CISR offers interdisciplinary courses that integrate knowledge from Computer Technology, Agriculture, Food Science, Management, and allied domains. 2. Short-Term Certification Programs
The Centre conducts short-term certification programs focused on emerging technologies, research tools, and industry-relevant skills. These programs are structured to provide hands-on training, practical exposure, and domain-specific competencies that enhance employability and professional growth.
3. Professional Skill Development
CISR emphasizes holistic professional development by offering training in communication skills, leadership, project management, entrepreneurship, data analysis, and digital tools. The objective is to prepare students, researchers, and faculty members to meet evolving industry standards and global academic expectations.
4. FDPs & Workshops
Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and workshops are regularly organized to upgrade teaching methodologies, research capabilities, and technological proficiency. These initiatives encourage knowledge sharing, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adoption of innovative pedagogical and research practices.
5. Research Orientation Programs
Research Orientation Programs are conducted to cultivate a strong research culture among students and faculty. These programs focus on research methodology, proposal writing, funding opportunities, publication ethics, intellectual property rights, and innovation management, thereby strengthening the research ecosystem of the University.

Certification Course – Drone Skill Development Program
Starting from 7th March 2026
The Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies & Research (CISR), D. Y. Patil Agriculture & Technical University (DYP-ATU), is pleased to announce the Certification Course – Drone Skill Development Program commencing from 7th March 2026.
This comprehensive 3-Month Skill Development Program in Drone Technology is designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and hands-on expertise in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The program aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements in emerging drone technologies.
- Structured training covering Drone Design, Fabrication, Programming & Maintenance
- Simulator-based flight training and real-time flight operations
- Mission planning, mapping, and data analysis
- Hands-on experience with Agricultural Spraying Drones (25 Kg Model) and DIY Educational Drone Kits (2 Kg Model)
- Exposure to drone components, sensors, and advanced applications
- Industry mentorship and certified trainers
- Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded with Skill-Based Certification from Aerobotz and CISR, DYPUT
- Duration: 12 Weeks (3 Months)
- Total Hours: 96 Hours
- Weekly Commitment: 8 Hours (Saturday Sessions)
- Open to students, faculty members, entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and interested individuals from society.
- Limited to one batch of 60 candidates only
- ₹4,200 per candidate
The program is conducted in collaboration with Aerobotz Unmanned Technologies Private Limited, aiming to develop industry-ready professionals capable of contributing to sectors such as agriculture, surveying, logistics, infrastructure, and defense.
This initiative reflects CISR’s commitment to interdisciplinary innovation, skill enhancement, and technology-driven education, preparing students for future careers in autonomous and aerial systems.
