Procedure of Functioning
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University follows a structured, systematic, and participative approach to ensure continuous quality enhancement and sustenance across all academic and administrative processes. The step-by-step procedure adopted by the IQAC is outlined below:
Step 1: Constitution and Organization of IQAC
The IQAC is constituted as per NAAC guidelines under the Chairpersonship of the Head of the Institution, with representation from faculty, administration, management, students, alumni, industry, and other stakeholders. Roles and responsibilities of the Chairperson, Director/Coordinator, and members are clearly defined to ensure effective functioning.
Step 2: Planning of Quality Initiatives
At the beginning of each academic year, the IQAC prepares a comprehensive Plan of Action aligned with the University’s vision, mission, strategic plan, NAAC quality benchmarks, and NEP-2020 objectives. The plan focuses on teaching–learning enhancement, research promotion, extension activities, governance reforms, and student support mechanisms.
Step 3: Conduct of IQAC Meetings
IQAC meetings are conducted at least once every quarter to review ongoing quality initiatives, assess progress against planned objectives, and identify gaps or areas for improvement. Agendas are circulated in advance, and deliberations are recorded through properly documented minutes.
Step 4: Implementation of Quality Initiatives
Approved action plans are communicated to concerned academic departments and administrative units for implementation. The IQAC facilitates coordination among various units to ensure the timely and effective execution of quality-related activities, policies, and reforms.
Step 5: Data Collection and Documentation
The IQAC systematically collects qualitative and quantitative data related to academic performance, research output, infrastructure utilization, student progression, and administrative efficiency from departments and support units. Relevant documents, reports, and records are maintained in both physical and digital formats.
Step 6: Stakeholder Feedback and Analysis
Structured feedback is collected from students, faculty members, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders on curriculum design, teaching–learning processes, facilities, and support services. The IQAC analyses the feedback and prepares action-oriented recommendations for improvement.
Step 7: Monitoring, Review, and Evaluation
The IQAC continuously monitors the implementation of quality initiatives through progress reviews, performance indicators, and outcome assessments. Academic and Administrative Audits (AAA) are conducted periodically, and follow-up actions are initiated based on audit findings.
Step 8: Coordination with Statutory Bodies
The IQAC coordinates with the University's statutory bodies and authorities to ensure that quality enhancement initiatives are aligned with institutional policies, regulatory frameworks, and accreditation requirements. Recommendations of IQAC are placed before appropriate bodies for approval and implementation.
Step 9: Preparation and Submission of AQAR
The IQAC prepares the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) in accordance with NAAC guidelines, capturing achievements, best practices, quality improvements, and outcomes for the academic year. The AQAR is approved by the statutory body and submitted to NAAC within the stipulated timeline.
Step 10: Transparency and Public Disclosure
All IQAC-related documents, including composition, meeting minutes, action taken reports, AQARs, and quality initiatives, are uploaded on the University website. This ensures transparency, accountability, and easy access to information for all stakeholders.
