DYP-ATU are using Library Automation Software of SOUL 3.0 by INFLIBNET. All Library books are classified under DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification) System to organize library collections.

The DYP-ATU Library every last date of month announces the new arrival of books, print periodicals and news on DYP-ATU. New arrival service will inform you about books processed and periodicals received on different dates during the previous month. The newly arrived books are displayed near the circulation counter.

Library Membership

The Library membership is provided to DYP-ATU Students, Research scholars, faculty and staff. Members need to apply for membership by filling the membership form. Form is available at the circulation counter in the library OR download from library website.

  • While filling the online form, select General in the Member Type.
  • In Member ID feed your PRN Number.
  • You have to upload 3 documents for online membership

    ii. Signature
    iii.Fee Receipt.

Book Bank Service

  • It is a Semester – Based Scheme.
  • A Student must be a member of the library to avail this facility.
  • A Student has to apply in the prescribed form available in the Central Library and Website of DYP-ATU library.
  • Students have to enclosed attested copies of Fee Receipt, Mark List and Letter to Librarian with Department remark.
  • One book per Subject will be issued as per availability.
  • The books must be returned on or before last day of his/her theory examination of each semester. Delay in such case will be fine Rs. 2/- per Day per Book.

Circulation

DELNET (Developing Library Network)

DELNET-Developing Library Network, New Delhi is a major resource sharing library Network in India connecting more than 9000 institutions in 28 States and 8 Union Territories in India and few other countries comprising of Universities, Colleges, R&D organisations, medical hospitals, etc. DELNET is devoted to the Modernisation & Networking of Libraries. It was registered as a Society on June 30, 1992. It is located in Jawaharlal Nehru University Campus, New Delhi. “Networking Libraries, Sharing and Spreading Knowledge” remains the prime motto of DELNET with which it is working relentlessly for past more than 32 years. DELNET has received the prestigious IIPA Award for Excellence in Public Services on October 30, 2020 announced in the gracious presence of the Hon’ble Former Vice President of India Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu.

The main objectives of DELNET is to promote resource sharing among the Member-Libraries by collecting, storing and disseminating information and by offering networked library services to users; to undertake research in the area of information science and technology, offer technical guidance to Member-Libraries; coordinate efforts for suitable collection development; facilitate and promote Inter Library Loan and delivery of documents, etc. DELNET has developed Discovery Portal, Knowledge Gainer Portal, Vision Portal (Video Lectures), Global Research and Innovation Portal (GRIP), etc. The portals have sophisticated features for advance knowledge discovery. It is a simple, single window discovery layer which encourages the users to explore the networked library/knowledge resources offered through DELNET in a feature-rich environment. DELNET is a great boon for faculty, researchers, scholars, students, etc. of Member-Institutions.

CENTRAL LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. Silence & Cleanness should be strictly maintained in & around the Library.
  2. The following categories of staff-member and Students can borrow the number of books as indicated against each category
  • Teaching Staff –             10
  • Non-Teaching Staff –     05
  • Visiting Faculty –            05
  • Research Students –       05
  • Students –                      02
  1. The University Library works on all working days between 9.00am to 4.00pm depending on timetable.
  2. Journals and other periodicals are not issued at home Except for Xeroxing.
  3. Reference books like encyclopaedias, dictionaries, atlases, maps and rare- books cannot be issued.
  4. Books will be issued strictly against Library card. (in absence be submitted of authorized person’s authority letter)
  5. In case the library card is lost, member will have to communicate the librarian in written immediately to avoid misuse.
  6. If library card is lost, and in case book is taken by anybody else, then member will be held responsible for transaction on library card.
  7. In case the book is lost, the borrower has to replace the same edition or the Latest Edition of the lost book. If the book is not available borrower has to pay the Cost of the Book (Two times for the Book published after 1999 / Three times for the book published on or before 1999)
  8. If book/s will not be returned till due date, reminder will be sent and fine will be charged as per library rules.
  9. Any marking or writing in the book is strictly prohibited.
  10. Mobile phones need to be switched off or kept in the silent mode before making entry to the library/reading hall. Talking over mobile inside the library/reading hall is strictly prohibited
  11. Students are advised to check carefully the physical condition of book before it is issued. Once the book is issued he/she will be held responsible to return the book in good condition.
  12. Every Faculty/Students entering into the library should sign the library register.
  13. All the students should return their library borrower cards after completion of their course and obtain a “No-Dues” Certificate from Library.

Overdue Charges

All the Students are hereby informed that existing rules of Overdue Charges for books which are not returned on or before the due date are:

  1. 2:00 Per Book per Day up to 15th day after the due date.
  2. 5:00 Per Book per Day from 15th day onwards after the due date.
