It gives me immense pleasure to lead a department that serves as the foundation of the academic journey of engineering students. The first year is a crucial phase where young minds transition from school-level learning to the world of engineering, innovation and professional growth. The department is committed to provide a structured academically rigorous learning environment that supports the transition of students into higher engineering studies. Our curriculum integrates basic sciences, engineering sciences, skill-enhancement courses, and value-based education, ensuring that students develop strong conceptual clarity and essential analytical competencies. Aligned with the University’s vision, our teaching–learning practices emphasize experiential learning, professional skills and problem-solving skills with industry relevance. Beyond academics, the department encourages active engagement in curricular and co-curricular activities to promote holistic development, professional ethics, and leadership skills. We remain committed to supporting each student in their academic journey and facilitating a smooth progression into their respective engineering disciplines.
I welcome all the students for their intellectual growth, achievements and holistic development through this significant phase of their engineering career.
